Lori Ford Noone, 60, of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania and Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, died January 4, 2022 at her home in Mechanicsburg. Lori was an incredible mother to her two daughters, Kaity and Maura, and a loving wife of 37 years to her husband, John. Lori grew up in Scranton and lived a few blocks from John, but the two only met when they were both working in the Washington, D.C. area in their early twenties, where Lori moved after getting her degree from Penn State. The two fell in love instantly and got married within a year. Lori Ford was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania to Thomas and Aline Ford. She had a brother, Thomas Ford. She grew up in the Green Ridge neighborhood of Scranton and spent summers on Lake Winola with her parents, grandmother, brother, aunt, uncle and cousins. Lori shared countless wonderful memories of being at “The Lake.” Lori loved the island of Hilton Head, and after vacationing there for over 20 years with their daughters, she and John fulfilled a lifelong dream and purchased a home on Hilton Head in the community of Leamington in 2019. Lori has always found peace by the water. She loved walking on the beach, riding her bike and spending time with John, his daughters, his sons-in-law and his furry little shadow, the chocolate lab, Teddy. Lori felt blessed to spend so much time at Hilton Head in 2020 and 2021. Lori had a wonderful, wide circle of friends, all of whom knew she was a caring, compassionate, gracious and generous person. Her smile could light up a room! Lori loved to travel, entertain friends and family and was a fabulous cook. She was incredibly empathetic and made family, friends and acquaintances feel special and loved by sending cards and encouraging them through happy and difficult times. Lori is predeceased by her mother, father, and grandmother Raye, who was Lori’s middle mother. Although she was only ten years old when she lost her own mother to cancer, Lori was still able to overcome the grief she faced with joyful and happy memories. During the holidays, an often difficult time to remember loved ones who have passed away, Lori shared stories of her parents and grandmother with a smile on her face. May God give us the strength to do the same every time we think of her. For the past 22 years, Lori has bravely fought cancer with grace. Through it all, she has remained incredibly positive. She was fiercely grateful and aware of the present moment, and lived her life without fear of the future. Throughout her battle, Lori has guided, supported and comforted countless other women who were also battling cancer. Lori was a member of a cancer support group that was very dear to her, referring to her colleagues as her angels on earth. Lori will forever be an incredible role model to her husband and daughters. May we all honor his spirit with kindness and compassion. Lori is survived by her husband John; her daughter Kaitlin Goetzman and her husband, Andrew; her daughter Maura Morris and her husband, Brian; his brother Tom Ford and his wife, Bev; his beloved nephew Chris Ford and his wife, Allison; and countless cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
