Rena (Caron) Saint-Amour

PARIS SUD – Rena (Caron) St. Amour, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2021 at Maine Veteran’s Home in the south of Paris. Rena, the second eldest of 12 children, was born to Octave and Clémentine Caron in Sainte-Anne, New Brunswick, Canada on July 11, 1924. The family moved to Lille in the 1930s and she graduated from the Van Buren Sacred Heart Secondary School. After high school, the family moved to Auburn where they met her husband, Roland St. Amour. They were married at the Church of the Sacred Heart on September 6, 1947. Roland died before Rena less than five months.

Rena and Roland lived on Prospect Avenue for the first few years of their marriage. They built a new house at 34 Webber Avenue, where they raised three sons and a daughter.

Rena worked full time from 1943 at various factories in the region (Bates, Pepperell and Androscoggin) and semiconductor manufacturers (Fairchild, RCA, Ratheon). Rena retired from Maine Electronics, Lisbon, in 1988. After her retirement, she enjoyed looking after and spending time with her granddaughter Sarah, while her parents worked.

Rena was a firm believer in her religion, was a dedicated Catholic, and a member of Holy Cross Church in Lewiston. Rena was a full professional housekeeper and seamstress. She enjoyed traveling, visiting and welcoming her family, and enjoyed the company of her three grandsons Joshua, Jacob and Nicholas. Never inactive, his hobbies included photography, developing home movies, documenting photo albums, writing a journal, reading, sketching, painting, sewing, knitting, cooking and painting. preparation of the best delicacies one can experience. Rena has always had a positive attitude and was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She loved to laugh and have fun. Rena had many friends and naturally added a zest for life with everyone she met and spent time with. Rena brought magic to everyone who shared her presence.

Rena was predeceased by siblings Caron Raoul, Albertine, Joan, Octave (Aline), Patrick (Jeannine), Clifford (Betty), Henrietta (Eugène) Audet, Theresa (John) Bernier and Gemma (Richard) Boutin.

She is survived by her children Robert St. Amour of Bryan Texas, Joline (Michael) Colby of Poland Spring, Michael St. Amour of Lewiston and Paul (Leola) St. Amour of Poland Spring; grandchildren Joshua Colby of Phoenix, Jacob (Erin) Colby of Norway, Nicholas Colby of Poland Spring and Sarah St. Amour of Auburn, Mass .; siblings Claire (Lou) Pelletier of Roseville, Calif., Mariette (Andre) Pare of Harrisburg, Pa., and Ann (Roy) Caron of Newington, Connecticut; great-grandchildren Aiden, Alex and Jessie; and several nieces and nephews.

Fortin / Auburn Group Tour 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at Holy Cross Church at 11 a.m. Prayers and interment will be held at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Mt.
