Wesley James Curtis died on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, surrounded by his family.

A public visit will take place on Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Gillette Memorial Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 6, 2021 at G4 Church (Gillette Foursquare), 6201 Swanson Rd, Gillette, Wyoming with a reception at the American Legion.

Wesley was born on June 3, 1977 to Teresa (Anderson) Curtis and David Brewster. He was later adopted by his father Larry Curtis. He was the third child, having two sisters, Nichole Schumacher and Tara Reed, and two brothers, Justin Curtis and Ryan Brewster.

Wesley was born in Hillsboro, Oregon, then moved to Eugene, Oregon, and finally to Gillette, Wyoming, where he spent his life growing up. Growing up, he was active in sports and swam on the high school swim team and played high school football.

He graduated from Campbell County High School in 1995. After high school, Wesley dabbled in painting with his best friend, Jesse Logan in Minnesota. He later returned to Gillette and eventually started Integrity Painting.

Wesley married Sarah Mead in 1999. From this union was born a daughter, Ashlynn Curtis. They later divorced. He married Karla Manor in 2005. With this union was born a stepson, Brody Waters, and later a son, Isaiah Curtis, and two daughters, Gabriella Curtis and Lily Curtis were born.

Wesley was an avid hunter and a huge Denver Bronco fan. One of Wesley’s greatest joys was coaching his children in any sport, but especially boys in soccer. Wesley enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, playing basketball, billiards, playing guitar and singing, hanging out with family and friends, and spending time with his children and grandson. More than anything, however, Wesley loved Jesus and was known for his courage in telling others about the Lord.

Wesley was predeceased by his daughter Gabriella Curtis, his brother Justin Curtis, his maternal grandparents, Olga and Burdette Anderson, and his paternal grandparents, Chuck and Marcie Curtis.

Wesley is survived by his parents Larry and Teresa Curtis, and Dave Brewster. His two sisters, Nichole (Rich) Schumacher and Tara (Brad) Reed, and his brother Ryan (Cidra) Brewster. Her children, Ashlynn Curtis, Brody Waters, Isaiah Curtis and Lily Curtis. One grandson, Treyden Curtis and nephews and nieces, Cody Schumacher, Abigail Schumacher, Oksana (Trevor) Kopf, Logan Reed, Mia Reed, Dawson Reed, Bella Reed and Barrett Brewster.
